You want to have fields intergrated in register.php? Hmm, that will be something completely different as there usually are no other profile fields intergrated in register.php either. I'll think about it.

I had installed the mod and everything worked. Recently I went in to type in a field, and clicked update it would not update what I had typed, but still had what was originally in the field.

I logged into my test site and added the same field. I went to my profile to type into that field and it would not save anything in that field.

I just updated to the current version, and it still isn't saving anything into this new field I had added.

How or what should I do to either increase the field length and make it save what I type?

:)

1. You also performed the modification of the core files?
2. Is no information from the extended Profile stored, or just for one field?
3. You think it might be the length of the information you want to enter that is causing the problem? Maybe send me info in the field you added (field name and title) and the info you wanted to have stored there (can be done in a PM as well.

thanks for the update musca, but, there's some issue about showing turkish characters in profile etc, and ive the solution :)
just the htmlentites() function has to be changed with htmlspecialchars()
then everything becomes ok about turkish chars :)

edit: already told on IM
edit2: and attached the mod which supports turkish chars :)

Thanks, SoulSmasher. These changes only apply to the Profile Field Names as displayed on the site and were forgotten on oversight. The changes were added and I even noticed you forgot to update one of the files. ;)

So:

New version: v2.18

Changes:
- Addition of special character support for the Profile Field names displayed on the site. Thanks to SoulSmasher for pointing out the oversight.

Updating from version 2.17 can be done by just copying the contents of the php-files/ folder over the existing ones.

Oops, found a typo in ../infusions/extended_profile/includes/profile_admin.php: htmlpecialchars in stead of htmlspecialchars. I corrected the typo and updated the file download package linked to above.
Simply replacing the file will do. If you do not replace the file you'll notice the Extended Profile fields and content below on the page are not displayed when viewing member profiles from the admin panel. Regular profile views are okay.

ok im not sure how easy this is but i want to make some of the fields i make only avable to certein groups and only admins/sadmins can see the fields in the profile. i run a gaming site and i like to stay in touch with my clan so ill have them but there phone numbers in the fields but i dont wont the public to see it only other clan members. if this can be done that would be great thanks.

ps how do i call the new fields so i can have them show up on a Custom Page.

i know im asking a hole lot but im still learning php and im having fun at it.

For the question in the ps you can use the User by Profile addition, see http://www.muscap...p?cat_id=7. Make certain the link in the Navigation Panelis visible to the desired admins/usergroup only.

The first question is more complicated if you want some fiels to be visible and others not. The easiest would be to make all fields visible to admins only. In that case do not use the modified profile.php but the standard core files. If some fileds should be admin/usergroup only and others not, that would need an extensive modification of the infusion and that will take time (that I do not have available now ;)).

Hi..

Thcx for this very nice infusion.

But i have some few questions.

1. In the admin section i can onlu se 1 line at a time.. where i can see the fields i already made...

2. is it possible to make fields that are categorised...

ex.:

PC info:
Field 1
Field 2

Privat info:
Field 1
Field 2

If u understand..

:-D

I understand. :)

In ../infusions/extended_profile/extended_profile_admin.php you should be able to see a table 'Current fields' with the fields you already created.

Categorising added Extended Profile fields woul require an extensive rewrite and I can not produce that on short notice (even long notice will be difficult ;)).
